Fear

"What we fear we reject, and whatever we reject we judge and whatever is judged is excluded from the magic of life, therefore it must present itself again and again until it is received without judgement. True Perception is, in essence, the surrender of judgement, therefore the release of fear."

Peter O. Erbe, from God I AM

Fear is considered to be one of the basic emotions within everyone's life. In fact, it appears to be the one emotion that rules most people's lives. There is fear of death and dying, of not having enough money, of being alone, etc. The headlines of the newspapers and news broadcasts all have the underlying emotion of fear as their basic foundation. Fear sells, it gets our attention.

But fear is an illusion. It is a paper tiger. It is not real. "But, wait!" you shout. "What about all this stuff going on in the world? War, pollution, terrorist attacks...."

Yes, these things appear to be real, but they are only sustained by our energy input into them. In other words, our fear of these conditions actually creates and magnifies them into a seemingly reality. Our fear of fear sustains and allows it to grow. If everyone on the planet were to magically awake tomorrow with no programmed fear thoughts and emotions, all of these fear conditions would vanish into thin air. The earth would not be recognizable, it would truly be heaven on earth!

But then why has fear taken such a foothold on all of us? It is part of the grand experiment called Planet Earth. It is the duality of life on the Third Dimension. Fear, and other dense emotions, have been a necessary component of this reality. Good vs. Evil, Day and Night, hot and cold, positve and negative.... This reality came into existence because of the "tension" of these polar forces. Without one aspect, the tension would disappear, and so would this reality. Duality and Polarity are really an extension of God being played out here on earth.

So our earthly reality is very much grounded in polarity, and fear as an energy is a major player here. But I repeat, fear is an illusion in the broader scope of things. In the bigger picture, the foundational emotion is love. And we are being challenged to move through our fears (and other dense emotions) to move into love. This has been the teaching of all the Masters since time immemorial. We have been told that the way out of here is to move into the heart.

But the ironic thing about this process is that when one makes the decision to move into the heart, there are a number of pitfalls and paradoxes. For example, the road to the heart is filled with emotional "landmines" of all our past fears, traumas, hurts, pains, and judgements. Our unconscious mind is filled with stuff that we haven't wanted to deal with because at the time, and by their very nature, they have been events that have been too traumatic to deal with. They have been too overwhelming, and at the time of the event, they were swept under the carpet so to speak, into the realm of the uncounscious mind. But the road to the Heart goes right through each and every one of these unresoved issues. It has to. There is no other way, because the Heart is such pure energy that any impure thoughts cannot exist within the Heart. The impure (or imbalanced) energy contained by unresolved trauma, blocks the entrance into Heart consciousness. It is like a square block trying to get into a round (w)hole. It does not fit. Only when the light of awareness, consciousness, and intent shines upon these unresolved emotional issues, is their energy released, and the square block becomes rounder and rounder.

This may seem like a daunting task, and it is if we take the approach of western psychology as the only approach. These traumas and fears reside in the realm of the ego and the mind, and typically, western psychology talks about our ego identity, ego strength, self esteem, etc. Western psychology talks about helping a person to feel better about themselves, to analyze their past for the reasons that they feel the way they do today. Although these approaches to health and healing appear to be helpful, it never quite gets the job done. It is because we are using the mind to try and cure the mind. It's like having the fox in the henhouse telling all of the chickens "not to worry. I have your best interest at heart."

The mind and ego are actually quite limited in their ability to heal our total Selves. In truth, the mind and ego are only a small measure of who we truly are. They are magnificant computers that process copius quantities of data, and come up with seemingly real scenerios as to how to keep us out of trouble, how to live our lives, and how to reach happiness. But the flaw of the mind and ego is that that they can only process data that has occurred in the past through our past experiences (or at least our perception of these experiences), and then extrapolate that data into future probabilties. There is no creativity. And the underlying dynamic of the mind and ego is that of control, for the mind and ego live in a terrible world based upon fear. For what else is control other than the fear of fantasized events occuring in the future. So we try to control others or events to keep those "terrible (probable) events" from happening. Thus, the underlying dynamic of the mind and ego is that of fear, and it's time dimension is that of the past or the perceived future.

This is not to say that fear does not have usefullness to our lives. It can help to keep us out of danger, or key us to when we are being attacked on some level. But use fear as only a piece of feedback. Allow the energy of fear to move through you, like water through a river bank. When you do, then fear does not become stuck within you and become the ruler your life. There is one of life's paradoxes operating here. If you resist the fear in any way, it becomes bigger and more invasive. But if you acknowledge it on all levels, then its gifts become available to you. The final gift is that of the return to the Heart.

The center of all creativity in us is in our heart center. It is why we are truly Creater Beings, and why it is that we do create our own reality. This happens even when we are not consciously doing so. And the heart only knows love, and it's time orientation is the present moment. The Here and Now...it is all there truly is.....
